MIS: General Information

The MS degree in MIS at the University of Illinois at Springfield is specifically focused on providing a balance between technical skills and knowledge of business functions and processes. This is attained in two ways:

Curriculum
The curriculum is designed to integrate information technology with business and management concepts.

Faculty
Most of the faculty who teach in the MIS program have real-world experience. In addition, all either have, or are pursuing, their doctorate.

UIS has a tradition of offering innovative programs to students at the time and place most convenient for them. The MS degree in MIS offers three options:

1. Traditional classroom instruction on campus in Springfield, Illinois.
2. Online coursework offered over the Internet.
3. Any combination of traditional in-class and online instructions that best meets your needs.

The online courses are being developed and taught by the same faculty members who teach the traditional in-class sections of the courses, thereby assuring the quality of the online courses is as good as or better than the traditional in-class instruction.
