Presentation will focus on how companies with large IT departments are addressing new and challenging trends. Speaking from a perspective of one of the largest IT companies in the United States, how do organizations stay competitive, current, and cost-effective in such a rapidly changing environment? Topics such as IT modernization, big data analytics, innovation, the cloud, security, and staffing will be discussed. Questions and comments are encouraged during the presentation.

Jeff L. Bertrand joined State Farm® in 1995 as a data processing trainee in Bloomington, Ill. Jeff was promoted to project manager in 1996 and manager in 1997. He was named director in Marketing Systems in 2000 and later served in several director positions in Data & Information Systems and Systems Technology. Jeff most recently served as the Systems Department sponsor for Unified Communication and several director/sponsor roles in the Integrated Customer Platform initiative. Prior to his current assignment, Jeff led the establishment of the Future State Technology program.
He assumed the role of Systems Department assistant vice president and senior IT architect in Bloomington, Ill. in 2014.
Jeff received a bachelor's degree in computer science and minor in business from Quincy University and a Master of Business Administration from University of Illinois - Springfield.
Jeff is currently working on his ChFC designation.
Jeff has served in a variety of leadership roles within the community, most recently as vice president of the Normal West Gridiron Club and leading various fundraising events.
Jeff and his wife, Lynne, have five children ages 18-21, all of whom enrolled in college in fall 2016. In his free time, Jeff enjoys watching all sports. He is an avid Notre Dame football and St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan and a season ticket holder for Illinois State University football.
