The 2nd Annual Conference of the
Midwest AIS will be held in Springfield, Illinois, and is sponsored
by the College of Business and Management at the University of
Illinois at Springfield. MWAIS 2007 will provide an intimate
environment to facilitate the sharing of ideas, and close
interaction among participants. About 100 participants are expected
from throughout the Midwest US, the neighboring states and Canadian
provinces, and beyond
The conference will be held at the University of
Illinois at Springfield. UIS is one of three campuses of the
University of Illinois and is a leader in online education.
Enrollment at UIS is approximately 4,500 students, which include
approximately 2,000 graduate students. UIS is located on the
southeast side of Springfield, near Lake Springfield.
Springfield is the capital of Illinois and has a
population of 113,000. Springfield was the home of President Abraham
Lincoln and offers many attractions for visitors to experience
the Lincoln tradition. Springfield is located in central Illinois,
and is just 200 miles south of Chicago, and 100 miles north of St.
Louis. The Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport offers daily flights
to and from St. Louis Lambert International and Chicago O'Hare.
Amtrak offers daily stops in Springfield between both Chicago
and St. Louis.
