Hello, I am Rassule Hadidi, Chair of the Department of Management Information Systems of the College of Business and Management at the University of Illinois at Springfield. On behalf of the MIS Department faculty and staff, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our Department Web site and encourage you to learn about our face-to-face and online degree programs and certificates.

We currently offer a master of Science Degree Program and a minor at the undergraduate in Management Information Systems. You have the option of taking all your courses online, on-campus, or some online and some on-campus courses. We also offer fully online Graduate Certificates in Information Technology Project Management and Business Process Management that we have developed in partnership with the Global Campus of the University of Illinois.

The goal of our graduate program is to prepare you for challenging positions in the application of information technology to solving business problems. Our minor in MIS is designed to complement your primary area of study by providing a background in and understanding of decision making processes in organizations, organizational needs for information systems development, and application of modern MIS concepts and tools to meet organizational needs.

Our Information Technology Project Management certificate provides you with the fundamental knowledge you will need to manage the development and delivery of Information Technology and related projects. We have designed our Certificate in Business Process Management to provide you with the expertise you will need to successfully analyze, define, and design organizational processes and to apply Information Technology to effectively and efficiently solve business problems.

Our courses are developed and delivered by our highly qualified and exceptional faculty members who have been teaching online and face-to-face for more than a decade. Our online courses are developed by the same highly qualified faculty who teach our on-campus courses.  Our online courses are very interactive and are well known for learning effectiveness.  During the course of the semester, you will be interacting and collaborating with your peers in your courses and will be regularly interacting with your course instructor and your course contents.  Our research indicates that these interactions are essential for effective online learning.

I hope you will take the advantage of interactions and collaborative learning opportunities that are available to you in our courses and wish you a very successful experience with your University of Illinois degree program.
